Clarice and Dave Johnson are a married couple struggling to overcome physical trauma, personal disappointments, and unrealized expectations. They also have differing opinions on what it means to be successful and live a meaningful life: Designer label conscious Clarice is driven by her quest to climb the social ladder; Dave is satisfied coaching little league and running a janitorial service. But after Clarice is injured in a car accident, the constant presence of her physical therapist Julie creates strife that quickly moves the Johnsons' marriage into crisis mode.
